Win’s been making all kinds of great noises lately, but it’s been difficult to catch them! She knows the camera is different than mommy’s face (and infants are so good at concentrating on objects that are different!) so when it comes up next to my face, she’ll usually break eye contact and stare, rapt, at the phone or camera instead. Mike captured the first clip just after dinner a week or so ago, and in the second clip, I somehow managed to make enough faces to keep her interest on communicating with me rather than studying that funny black box I was waving around.
It’s really fun to carry on conversations with her this way, but it turns out research backs up those instinctual responses. Responding to her pre-linguistic babbling is crazy effective at amping up vocal learning.
Love that ramblin’ bean to pieces.
